I've been wanting to paint this since I saw an old clip of some guys trying to hold one of these on the ground. The ship took off into the air and the men holding on didn't let go until they were too high. They all died. Terrible thing to see but the piece is loosely based on the moment after you may have held on too long...we'll see how it turns out...I even have some dimension on this painting, I couldn't resist the temptation.
